This interactive online training explores both legal and non-legal tools to help local authority and housing association landlords respond effectively to anti-social behaviour (ASB). By focusing on early intervention, proportionate responses, and good practice, the session supports the goal of building safer, more sustainable communities.

You’ll gain a clearer understanding of what constitutes anti-social behaviour, how to manage lower-level nuisances, and how to approach conflict constructively—drawing on a mix of human insight, professional judgement, and practical solutions.

What will I learn?

By attending this course, you will:

  • Explore how ASB affects individuals, neighbours, and the wider community.
  • Understand when and how to use non-legal remedies to prevent tenancy failure—and when legal action may be necessary.
  • Examine the human behaviours behind ASB, alongside the legal and procedural frameworks.
  • Build confidence in making professional judgements in complex situations.

Who should attend?

This course is ideal for frontline staff working in anti-social behaviour case management, including:

  • Housing officers
  • Anti-social behaviour officers
  • Other staff involved in tenancy or neighbourhood management within local authorities or approved housing bodies

Benefits of attending

You’ll develop a deeper, more practical understanding of how to:

  • Respond proportionately to a range of anti-social behaviour
  • Choose the most effective approach for different situations
  • Balance human insight with procedural knowledge
