Experience in one housing-related job will give you knowledge and skills that can be transferred to another role in the sector, and the ethical ways of working you value will apply wherever you go. Whether you want to change your day-to-day responsibilities or the area you work in, there’s always the opportunity to switch things up as a housing professional. 

Take your work with you 

Many people working in housing don’t work traditional hours, whether that’s due to job requirements or their personal commitments. As a sector committed to improving people’s lives, housing offers a positive and welcoming working environment. No day is the same—you might be in the office attending meetings on Monday, out visiting tenants on Tuesday, and on-site with contracted repair teams on Wednesday. You can use this freedom to your advantage and get your job done in a way that is most productive for you.

People will always need a safe place to call home, so housing will always be a relevant sector to work in.
